With only 8simple ingredients (or 7 if you skip the maca, this will give it a stronger caramel flavour but they are as delicious with out this if you cant get your hands on this superfood ) ingredients you can create the perfect chocolate bar. If you are allergic or intolerant to peanuts you can substitute the peanut butter for any nut butter but I would recommend using almond butter and changing the salted peanuts for crushed cashews or almonds.

Healthy Snicker Bars
Serves: 6-8 bars
Prep Time: 20 min
Set Time: 10 min
1 Cup Dates (8-10 )
2/3 Cup Almond Flour
1 tsp Maca Powder
1/4 tsp Salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 Cup Peanuts
4 Onz. vegan Chocolate
2 Tbsp peanut butter
Prepare the caramel: Soak dates for 10 min in hot water, drain and add dates, peanut butter, vanilla, maca, 1 tbsp of hot water & pinch of salt to a food processor and blend until smooth. Place aside.
Nougat Layer: Take 1/4 cup of the caramel sauce and add almond flour mix until a dough is formed. Place a baking paper on a tin and press down nougat layer creating a even flat layer. Place on freezer for 20 min.
Remove nougat from freezer place rest of the caramel and top with peanuts. Place back to freezer for 1 hour.
Remove from freezer let chill for 5 min and slice in even bars. Melt chocolate and dip bars until you cover them completely, place on a plate on the fridge for 5 min for chocolate to harden.
Enjoy!! Keep in the fridge on a sealed container.
Note: If you can get your hands on maca powder you can skip this ingredient, maca gives it a stronger caramel flavour but they are as delicious with out this super food.
